When it comes to publishing comics you have several options. It is essential for you to be open and aware of the various options available to you, so that you may find what is best for you in
terms of finances and time.

The two primary known approaches for publishing your comic book involves going through a comic book publisher or self-publishing. But it does not end there; within each of these publishing categories you have more publishing options.

For example, if you go through a comic book publisher, you have the option of working with a major publisher or an independent publisher (small press). The same thing applies to self-publishing. You may decide to print multiple copies of your comic book, use print on demand or even go online. I must add
that there are even more options as well in both categories. However, I would not mention them due to time.

Once you have browsed at your options it is as simple as seeing which one is fastest, easiest, and can meet your financial budget.

Why is this necessary? Every comic book creator is not the same. Everyone has his or her own issues and circumstance. For this reason I always see the need to present the different options a comic book creator has. In addition to this, I also like to state the easiest and best option possible for all comic
book creators to implement.

Nevertheless, if you have problems deciding what is best for you, you can start by checking your schedule. See how much time you can sincerely put aside to publish your comic book. People
usually value their time more than money. Therefore, this alone should be able to help many decide. Just in case you are still very unsure, take a look at your finances, and calculate how much you can set aside for publishing. I am sure these two factors would be enough to help you decide how you should approach publishing your comic book.

I have a word of advice to those who don’t feel comfortable looking outside of traditional publishing when it comes to comic book publishing. It is vital that you don’t only focus on Marvel, DC comics, Image or any other major comic book publisher to publish your comic book.

The times are changing and you now have other alternatives that are just as effective as going through the mainstream or independent comic publishers. If you are only focused on getting
your work published by Marvel, DC or even Image comics, you may be disappointed, since they get thousands of submissions every year. Out of all these submissions only one or two are selected.
For these reasons it doesn’t hurt to take action by checking out other options.

Due to the intensive nature of publishing it is best to seek out the option that is fastest, easiest, cheapest and most effective for you.

Comics and graphic novels address a range of societal issues and allow us to showcase what is happening in the world today. Some comic books act only as plot devices, some as social commentary, and others try to make us think.

Comics are now recognized as a valued medium and we can see their influence in just about every sector of our entertainment. From movies to television and from video games to amusement parks, comics have had a tremendous impact on our culture. As a result comics are no longer being censored in the sense of what should and shouldn’t be in them. This may be a bad thing for some but for others it is a basic part of free speech and the first amendment.

The silver age of comic books lasted approximately from the late 1950’s to the early 1970’s and during this period, a few attributes of comic book characters started to develop.

It was during this time, that the most interesting developments was the incorporation of science fiction into the storylines. With science fiction at the helm, it was possible to inject a myriad of stories. The ability to stretch the known boundaries put a new spin on tales. In the silver age of comic books, Batman and Robin (who were not super powered) could be placed anywhere, literally anywhere, and they were not confined to earth.

By placing our super heroes in an interplanetary situation, raises the issue that the target society in these other worlds clearly had good versus bad situation. In the silver age of comic books, they took human traits and manifested them in aliens who had special abilities that transcended humans and were perpetually war-like. It was necessary for there to be conflict in the new society, to provide reason for our super heroes to justify their existence.

By fusing science fiction into the comic book format, super heroes and villains could be transformed, or mutated, much more easily. Even the weapons in use could make even Superman pause.

It was during this era, that comic book publishers began to integrate more humanity into their characters. Initially, the super heroes were robotic in their mannerism and emotional appeal and their humanizing suggested a transformation had taken place. It took internalized personal melancholy to rise to the surface and manifest itself to create a more human character.

Aquaman, who was originally considered as a negligible super hero, was transformed during the silver age of comic books. Although Aquaman emerged in the golden age, it wasn’t until the silver age of comic books that his ability to live outside of water and it was revealed that his arch nemesis was really his half brother, Ocean Master.

It is a general belief that the changes that took place in the Silver age comic books represented a modification that society dictated and achieved the alterations necessary to keep the comic book industry relevant in society.
